The field of criminal justice is a growing field and more students each year are declaring majors in criminal justice. Although having any type of degree is helpful in finding employment, a criminal justice degree is varied enough to either specialize in a particular field within the major or to go on to higher education. Federal and State agencies increasingly are looking for candidates who have specialized in a criminal justice field over those who are non-graduates.
